The Federacion Lationamericana de Ciudades, Muncipios y Asociaciones de Gobiernos Locales (FLACMA) is the leading Latin American association for cities, municipalities and local government associations representing over 16,000 municipalities, local governments and city halls.
FLACMA was formed in 1981 with its headquarters in Quito, Ecuador and it is the Latin American section of United Cities and Local Governments.
Its mission is to develop and promote local democracy while acting as the voice for Latin American cities and municipalities before the United Nations, the Organization of American States and other intergovernmental organizations.
