UN-Habitat

PFD has been retained as a content partner for over ten years by UN-Habitat, the United Nations’ agency that is responsible for cities and urban development.

Work highlights

In 2011, our team was selected to produce a special report for the governors of the 18 Iraq provinces on how to rebuild the country through decentralised local governments. We met with the governors in Jordan and with regional officers at UN Habitat’s office in Amman and interviewed experts globally. We wrote, edited, designed and delivered the copy in English and Arabic.

Our work on the flagship State of the Cities reports began in 2015 when we were selected to manage the production of the Asia-Pacific report. PFD was chosen over 24 other providers in a competitive tender to assist with editing, content generation, design and layout, distribution, translation, and press and PR launches.

We have since won tenders to produce a report on European cities for UN-Habitat and the European Commission (in 2017) and a third report on African cities produced with UN-Habitat and the African Development Bank (2018).

In 2020, we completed our most recent project for UN-Habitat when we edited and designed a publication on resilience in African cities in partnership with King’s College London.

“This is an outstanding draft. It really brings the text to life, is engaging and the images relevant. The layout is really helpful with the summaries on standalone pages.”
